Chamberlain Capital Clasisic - History

The Chamberlain Capital Classic Half Marathon, is an annual event which takes place during October in Lynwood in Pretoria. The race is popular amongst locals and visitors from around the country and is well organised.

There are three distances to choose from, the 21.1km, 10km and a fun run which is 5km.

Both the Classic Half Marathon and the 10km circular routes offer participants a number of challenges along the way.

Most of the race takes place through the suburb of Lynnwood and goes through the ultra-modern HUB Techno Park. This is a scenic and challenging route complete with rolling hills and dales.

The race ends with a fast two kilometre downhill sprint to the finish where the MacChamberlain Highlanders Pipe Band brings you in to the finish with renditions of "Scotland the Brave".

The whole family will enjoy the festivities of the day and all can enter into one of the races. Thousands of runners enjoy this race each year and all finishers receive a medal. Pre-entries are advisable but entries are currently allowed on the race day, which starts promptly at 6am.

Walkers and wheelchair users are welcome.

Unique Fact: Entertainment will be provided by pipe bands and there is a voucher for participants wearing a kilt in the 21.1km race.

Medals are awarded to all finishers and there are lucky draw prizes up for grabs.
